Danae Voormeij

Registered Professional Gold and Copper Exploration Geologist, Expert in Tropical Laterite Terrains.

Danae Voormeij is a registered PGeo with EGBC and a Qualified Person (QP) under NI 43-101 Standards. With more than two decades of international exploration experience, she is an expert in tropical laterite terrain, where supergene gold enrichment and artisanal gold mining patterns intersect.

Her work has taken her to more than 30 countries — from ground magnetic surveys in the Gobi Desert with Ivanhoe Mines at Oyu Tolgoi in 2001, to Liberia, where she discovered and drilled out 2.4 million ounces of gold in under three months in 2011. From 2014 to 2018 she worked in Egypt’s Eastern Desert, investigating historic gold mines that date back to Pharaonic times.

Danae is Director with Miata Metals with large gold exploration projects in Suriname. Danae is also Director, Chief Geologist and QP for Vancouver-listed Sky Gold Corp, with the Evening Star copper-gold porphyry/CRD/epithermal system in Walker Lane gold trend, Nevada.

She is the author of Gold Exploration in Tropical Terrains (over 11,000 open access downloads on ResearchGate).
