Danae Voormeij, BSc (Honours), MSc, PGeo is a Dutch born-Canadian registered professional geoscientist with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) and a Qualified Person (QP) under Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) NI 43-101 Standards.

Danae is the owner and principal consultant of Mynah Exploration Inc.

She has more than 25 years of international experience, exploring for gold and copper in tropical laterite terrain.

Her exciting work has taken her to many different countries — starting with running ground magnetic surveys in the Gobi Desert with Ivanhoe Mines at Oyu Tolgoi in 2001, to the jungles of Suriname, Madagascar, Uganda and Papua New Guinea. Then dome-related orogenic gold near Navachab in Namibia. To Liberia, West Africa, where she led the team to the discovery of Touzon, a grassroots discovery of 2.4 million ounces of shear-zone hosted gold and added another 1.5 Moz of gold to the Dugbe deposit.

Then on to Chihuahua, Mexico for silver-bearing vein arrays, and training exploration teams on soil geochemistry in Nicaragua, The Philippines and Jamaica. On to the goldfields of Ethiopia and Sudan. Then Egypt, where she investigated and worked many intact Pharaonic-aged gold mines across the Arabian Nubian Shield from 2014 to 2018. Then historic data compilation and 3D explicit vein modelling of gold-bearing quartz veins at operating gold mines in Zimbabwe, Kenya and Guinea, followed by training the Kobold field team on soil geochemistry in Zambia. Currently, Danae is supporting the exploration team at Alpha Centauri Mining in Gabon.

All these countries have in common: Terrific field teams, deeply weathered earth and gold!

Danae is a director with Miata Metals with large gold exploration projects in Suriname.

She is a passionate, innovative geoscientist and a pioneer in using bearded lichens in large scale geochemical surveys as a non-invasive and fast new method of exploring for minerals through cover. www.epiphytex.com
